Steven A. Harvey

Steven A. Harvey, PhD, MHS, is Associate Professor of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where he has taught qualitative research methods for 15 years. In more than 25 years as a qualitative researcher, he has carried out observations on projects ranging from insecticide-treated bed net use for malaria prevention, to assessing health worker competency at managing life-threatening obstetric complications, to dumpster diving as a protest against materialism and waste. He has trained countless qualitative field teams in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States.
